Property Tax Relief

There are two Property Tax Deduction programs, for Senior Citizens and Veterans -both are handled locally through the Woodbury Tax Assessor's Office.

Senior Citizens & Disabled Annual Property Tax Deduction

Annual deduction of up to $250 from property taxes for homeowners age 65 or older or disabled who meet certain income and residency requirements. This benefit is administered by the local municipality.

Veterans' Annual Property Tax Deduction

Annual deduction from taxes due on real or personal property paid to qualified war veterans and their unmarried surviving spouses. The deduction is $250. This benefit is administered by the local municipality.

Property Tax Reimbursement, a Freeze on Taxes for Senior Citizens

This program is not handled through your local Tax Assessor, it is a State run program. For information and an application on the Senior Freeze Program, please call the Property Tax Reimbursement Hot Line at 800-882-6597 or visit the State of New Jersey's Senior Freeze (Property Tax Reimbursement) page.

Make sure you are getting all the tax breaks available to you. Each of these programs has eligibility criteria and filing deadlines. Contact the County tax assessor's office at 856-307-6445 to find out if you qualify, or for assistance in filling out the applications.
