On 7/19, a resident of Woodbury was charged with simple assault and failure to comply with fingerprinting requirements following a domestic incident at a residence on High Street. The individual was taken into custody and lodged in the Salem County Jail. A court date is pending.

 

On 7/20, a resident of Glover Street was charged with simple assault following a domestic incident that occurred inside the residence. A court date is pending.

 

On 7/20, a resident of Green Street reported witnessing her grandson take $60 in cash from her wallet. When she confronted him about the incident, he returned $20, claiming that was all he had taken. Various options were discussed with the victim, but she chose to have the incident documented for now and plans to decide on further action later, after speaking with her grandson.

 

On 7/20, officers were dispatched to East Centre Street regarding a reported theft of a bicycle. The caller reported witnessing a juvenile take a bike from a neighbor's porch. The suspect left his own bicycle behind. Officers made contact with the subject and recovered the stolen bicycle, which was then returned to its owner. The owner opted not to file any complaints.

 

On 7/21, officers and fire personnel were dispatched to a residence on E. Barber Avenue in response to a fire. A concerned driver noticed the flames, parked in the driveway, and began banging on the door. The driver's daughter called 911. Fortunately, the two occupants were evacuated safely, and no one was harmed. The fire was extinguished and was later determined to be accidental, caused by a cigarette that had not been fully extinguished before being placed in the trash can.


On 7/22, a Woodbury resident was charged with disorderly conduct and breach of peace after causing a disturbance at Woodlake Apartments. Court date pending.

 

On 7/22, a resident of South Columbia Street reported that her son's bike was stolen two days earlier from their backyard. The incident is currently under investigation, and the suspects will be charged accordingly once identified.

 

On 7/23, officers were dispatched to CVS in response to a shoplifting incident. Employees reported that two women entered the store, concealed cosmetic and hair products, and then left without paying. The suspects fled the scene before the police arrived. Law enforcement received a description of both women, the male driver, and details about the vehicle's make, model, and registration. Detectives investigating were able to positively identify all three suspects using AI facial recognition technology. The two women, one a resident of Berlin and the other of Sewell, were both charged with shoplifting and theft. The male driver, a resident of Logan Township, was charged with conspiracy to commit shoplifting. Court dates are pending.

 

On 7/23, while patrolling the area of South Broad Street and East Centre Streets, officers observed a female consuming alcohol while walking. The alcohol was disposed of, and a summons was issued. A court date is pending.

 

On 7/24, a West Deptford resident was charged with several offenses, including obstruction, providing false information, eluding police in a motor vehicle, and endangering the welfare of a child. Additionally, the individual received multiple traffic citations for driving on a suspended license, driving without a license, failing to observe a traffic control device (running a red light), careless driving, reckless driving, improper passing, and delaying traffic. A court date is pending.

 

On 7/24, a resident on Elm Avenue reported that her Amazon package was stolen from her porch. She provided a description of the male suspect to the police. The incident is currently under investigation, and once the suspect is identified, he will be charged accordingly.
