On 9/22, officers were dispatched to a residence on S. Davis for a report of an unwanted person. By the time the police arrived, the suspect had already left the scene. A temporary restraining order (TRO) was issued for this incident, and the subject was served the following day when he returned to the property while the resident was at work. A court date is pending.

 

On 9/22, officers were dispatched to CVS in response to a shoplifting incident. Employees reported that a woman, who had previously been arrested and trespassed from the store, attempted to steal $132.46 worth of merchandise. The employee confronted her outside the store and successfully retrieved the stolen items. While the employee called the police, the woman fled in her vehicle. Officers contacted the vehicle's owner, who confirmed that her daughter was in possession of her vehicle. After identifying the suspect, a resident of Mantua, she was charged with shoplifting and trespassing. A court date is pending.

 

On 9/23, officers responded to a report of shoplifting at the Conoco Gas Station on Mantua Avenue. The employee stated that two male juveniles entered the store with their hoods up, covering their faces. He informed the juveniles that they needed to remove their hoods while inside the store, and both complied. One of the juveniles then grabbed two vapes and fled the store, followed closely by the second juvenile. The incident is still under investigation, and once the juveniles are identified, they will be charged accordingly.

 

On 9/23, during a traffic stop it was found the driver was driving without a license. The male, a Queen Street resident, gave a false name to officers. The driver was charged with hindering, obstruction, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of prescription drugs, failure to voluntarily delver CDS to police, and several traffic citations. Court date is pending.

 

On 9/24, during a traffic stop at 12:10 AM, it was discovered that the driver only had a learner's permit and should not have been driving past 11 PM. The driver received a summons for violating the curfew associated with the special learner's permit. Additionally, the passenger, who was the owner of the vehicle, was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was released on his own recognizance (ROR) with a new court date assigned. The passenger was also issued a summons because the vehicle's registration was suspended. A court date is pending.

 

On 9/24, during a traffic stop, officers discovered that the driver had an outstanding warrant for his arrest issued by Gloucester Township. Additionally, the driver, a resident of Williamstown, did not possess a valid driver's license. He was issued summonses for failing to maintain proper vehicle lighting and for not possessing a driver’s license. Gloucester Township police later arrived at the station and took the individual into custody. A court date is pending.


On 9/25, a resident of N. Evergreen Avenue was charged with simple assault and burglary after entering a home without permission, striking a family member, and taking an iPad upon leaving. A court date is pending.

 

On 9/25, a resident of Amherst Street in Deptford was charged with contempt of court after contacting his victim shortly after a final restraining order (FRO) was granted. A court date is pending.

 

On 9/26, a resident of South Evergreen Avenue reported a fraudulent transaction on his bank account. The unauthorized Apple Cash transaction was made without his consent. His bank has been notified of the fraud, has issued him a new account, and has opened an investigation into the matter. The victim requested that the situation be documented.

 

On 9/26, a resident of Mantua reported a theft. The victim described that while she was hanging out in the Pizza Hut parking lot with a male she had met a few days earlier at the Conoco gas station, she was sitting inside her car while he stood outside by the passenger window. The male reached into her car, grabbed her purse, stole $250 in cash, and then fled towards the Manor Apartments. The suspect was later identified as a resident of Lafayette Avenue. Officers informed the victim about the process of filing complaints with the Deptford Court.

 

On 9/27th, officers were dispatched to the Second Chance Boutique in response to reports of an unwanted person. A female, known to the officers, was intoxicated and causing a disturbance on the sidewalk, which eventually extended onto S. Broad Street roadway. Before being transported to Inspira for medical attention, she was issued summonses for improper behavior, littering, breach of peace, consuming alcohol in public, possession of an open container of alcohol, delaying traffic, and obstructing public sidewalks and streets. A court date is pending.


On 9/28, a resident of Paulsboro received a summons for being in Rotary Park after dark, exhibiting improper behavior, and causing a breach of peace due to the disturbance she created. The court date is pending.

 

On 9/28, while patrolling near the intersection of Mantua Avenue and Salem Avenue, officers observed a vehicle that failed to stop at a traffic signal. The driver, a resident of Mantua, was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Gloucester Township issued a Release on Recognizance (ROR) and provided a new court date. Additionally, a summons was issued for failing to obey a traffic control device. The court date is pending.

 

On 9/29, Camden Metro Police took a woman into custody who had an outstanding warrant from Woodbury. Officers met at the State Police Barracks in Bellmawr to transfer custody of the individual. After processing, she was handed over to the sheriff’s department and transported to Salem County Jail. A court date is pending.

 

On 9/29, while responding to a disturbance at Aldi, one of the suspects was discovered to have two outstanding warrants for his arrest from Camden. The Camden Police Department granted a release on recognizance (ROR) for both warrants, along with a new court date. Both men were then released and sent on their way.

 

On 9/30, a resident of North Broad Street reported that his bicycle was stolen from his porch. A photo of the suspect has been sent to officers, and if identified, he will be charged with theft.

 

On 9/30, a Deptford resident was issued a summons for failing to exhibit their driver’s license, vehicle registration, insurance card, and lamps required, as well as for making an improper turn without signaling. A court date is pending.
