On 8/13, officers were dispatched to a residence on Cooper Street in response to a report of trespassing. The homeowner reported that a former tenant, who had previously been warned against entering the property, came to his home and left a check that is no longer needed. Officers located the individual and issued him a summons for trespassing. The check was returned to the former tenant, and he was once again advised not to return to the property. A court date is pending.

 

On 8/13, the Brooklawn Police Department turned over a Westville resident with several outstanding warrants from Woodbury. While waiting to be transported to the Salem County Jail, the individual twice covered the cell room camera with his shirt and punched it several times. A summons for criminal mischief was issued before he was taken to jail. Court dates are pending.

 

On 8/13, while officers were inside the Wawa in Woodbury Heights, the management requested assistance in moving along a male who had been loitering outside the store. The officers recognized the individual, as he had previously been trespassed from the location. He was subsequently issued a summons for trespassing before leaving the premises. A court date is pending.

 

On 8/14, a resident of Hessian Avenue received a summons for violating the municipal ordinance regarding open burning. The court date is pending.

 

On 8/14, a West Deptford resident was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to deliver as the result of a traffic stop. Before being transported to the Salem County Jail, the man was issued traffic summonses for failure to exhibit a driver's license, failure to exhibit proof of insurance, no liability insurance, and driving while his license was suspended. A court date is pending.

  

On 8/15, officers were dispatched to a residence on Nelson Avenue in response to an assault report. The caller stated that she had a disagreement with her niece over the placement of dog food in the refrigerator, during which her niece kicked her left leg. The niece denied kicking her aunt. The victim reported no injuries, refused medical attention, and indicated she was not in any pain. She also expressed that she did not want a restraining order at this time. Officers provided information on the process for filing a restraining order should she change her mind in the future.

 

On 8/15, a resident of Dare Street reported that her ex-boyfriend had stolen her dog from her yard out of spite, as he is unable to see their son. While the dog was at his home in National Park, it was attacked by one of his other dogs. Officers provided her with instructions on how to file complaints with the Deptford court regarding the theft and directed her to contact the West Deptford Police to report the incident involving the animal fight.


On 8/16, officers were dispatched to Performance Dodge for a welfare check. The caller reported that a man was asleep on the asphalt in the service entrance. Upon arrival, officers woke the man and informed him that he was banned from the property. He was issued a summons for breach of peace and instructed to leave. A court date is pending.

 

On 8/16, a resident of Willingboro was charged with stalking, harassment, and contempt of court for violating a temporary restraining order (TRO) following a domestic incident that took place at a residence on Deptford Avenue. The man was taken to Salem County Jail, and a court date is pending.

 

On 8/17, a resident of High Street was charged with multiple offenses, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault against a domestic violence victim, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, and making terroristic threats. These charges stemmed from a fight that occurred inside the residence.

 

On 8/17, officers were dispatched to a residence on Lincoln Street in response to reports of a man urinating and engaging in self-pleasure in the backyard. Upon arrival, officers located the male, who was identified as a suspect in a previous case on High Street. The male was placed under arrest and charged with trespassing, two counts of lewdness, and breach of peace. A court date is pending.

 

On 8/18, officers were dispatched to CVS in response to a shoplifting incident. Employees reported that a man entered the store, opened two packs of diapers, placed them in a bag, and left without paying. On 8/19, detectives were able to positively identify the suspect, a resident of North Evergreen Avenue, and charged him with shoplifting. A court date is pending.

 

 On 8/18, during a traffic stop for expired registration and the absence of a front license plate, it was discovered that the driver had an outstanding warrant for her arrest due to driving without a license. Several summonses were issued, and she was granted a release on her own recognizance (ROR). The driver, a resident of North Evergreen Avenue, was informed that she could not operate the vehicle until she obtained a valid driver's license and valid registration. A court date is pending.
