On 10/1, during a traffic stop, it was discovered that the driver, a resident of Wenonah, and the passenger, a resident of Brooklawn, both had outstanding warrants for their arrest. The vehicle's owner, who was the passenger, received summonses for suspended registration, an expired insurance card, and a tinted windshield. Both individuals were released on their own recognizance by the issuing municipalities, and court dates are pending.
On 10/2, A Woodbury resident reported a theft by deception. The victim advised that he was scammed into sending $1,800 in Bitcoin. The incident remains under investigation.

On 10/2, while patrolling the area of North Broad Street and Chestnut Street, officers observed a vehicle speeding and missing its front license plate. The male driver attempted to evade the officers but was eventually located when he pulled into a driveway on Green Street. The driver was issued summonses for driving with a suspended license, driving without a license, speeding, lacking a front plate, possession of open cannabis, careless driving, and obstruction of justice. Additionally, the vehicle's owner received a summons for allowing an unlicensed driver to operate it. Court dates are pending.
On 10/3, officers responded to a report on Myrtle Avenue regarding a loose dog that had bitten another dog. The caller stated that while he was walking his dog, another dog appeared and began fighting with his dog. Officers located the loose dog on Park Drive, running along the lake embankment. The dog continued to run and even swam in the lake before proceeding down S. Warren Street to Delaware Street and eventually onto a porch on West Centre Street. With assistance from animal control, the officers caught the dog. The dog's owners, who live on Myrtle Avenue, explained that the dog had escaped through a door that does not latch properly. They were advised to contact Gloucester County Animal Control and received a summons for allowing their dog to run at large. They were also informed that additional charges could be filed if the other dog was seriously injured. A court date is pending.
On 10/3, a resident on Wick Blvd was issued a summons for consuming alcohol in public. The officers disposed of the beer in the nearest trash receptacle. A court date is pending.
On 10/4, a Woodbury resident and Westville resident were both charged with littering and public park violations after leaving 25 yards of trash and debris behind Spirit’s Warehouse. Court dates are pending.
On 10/5, officers observed a male and female consuming alcohol in front of a business on South Broad Street. The male was found to have several outstanding warrants for his arrest. He was also in possession of drug paraphernalia and was charged accordingly. Following this, he was turned over to the Sheriff’s Department for transportation to Salem County Jail. The female received summonses for consuming alcohol in public and for having an open container of alcohol. Court dates are pending.
On 10/5, officers observed a driver turn left onto Penn Street, which is clearly marked as a No Left Turn zone. The driver had two outstanding warrants for her arrest. Westville approved a Release on Recognizance (ROR) for both warrants and issued a new court date. Additionally, she received a traffic summons for making an improper turn and for driving with a suspended driver's license. Court dates are pending.
On 10/6, officers were dispatched to Hopkins Street to investigate a theft from a motor vehicle. The victim reported that he parked his vehicle on Hopkins Street and entered a nearby business for approximately 30 minutes. Upon returning, he discovered that the passenger-side window had been shattered and that $3,500 in cash had been stolen from the center console. Through a thorough investigation, detectives determined that the suspect had followed the victim from the bank. On November 6th, they successfully identified the suspect as a Houston, Texas, resident currently in custody in Oklahoma. The suspect has been charged with burglary, theft, criminal mischief, and receiving stolen property. Court dates for extradition are pending.
On 10/7, while conducting a stationary patrol in the area of N. Evergreen Ave and Dare Street, officers observed a driver speeding past them. When officers contacted the driver, she explained that she was running late to drop her child off at school. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that she had an active arrest warrant. In consideration of her situation, officers allowed the driver to drop off her child at school before completing the rest of the interaction. The issuing municipality granted her an ROR with a new court date, and she was issued a speeding ticket. Court dates are pending.
On 10/7, New Jersey State Police turned over a subject who had an active warrant out of Woodbury. The male was processed and turned over to the Sheriff’s Department for transport to the Salem County Jail. Court date pending.
On 10/8, during a stationary radar patrol, officers observed a vehicle with no license plates. The driver of the vehicle did not possess a valid driver's license and was wanted on a warrant issued by the New Jersey State Police. As a result, the driver received summonses for operating a vehicle without a license and for driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle. The vehicle was towed, and the individual was handed over to the New Jersey State Police. A court date is pending.
On 10/8, a resident on Dare Street reported that her Kia Forte had been stolen from in front of her home. The vehicle was entered into the NCIC as stolen. On October 11th, Camden Metro Police contacted Woodbury Police to inform them that they had located the stolen vehicle in their city. The ignition had been tampered with, and the vehicle was towed to Camden Towing. The victim was provided with information on how to retrieve her vehicle, and it was subsequently removed from the NCIC database. The incident is still under investigation.
On 10/9, residents on Spring Street reported that someone had rummaged through their vehicles during the early morning hours. While nothing was taken from the first car, the second car was missing a wallet containing credit and debit cards, as well as a driver’s license. The victim informed the authorities that he had frozen all his cards using his banking app. Officers provided guidance on how to obtain a new driver’s license. The incident is under investigation.
