[ARCHIVED] Crime Blotter 6/28/2025 - 6/30/2025

On 6/28, during a traffic stop, it was discovered that the driver, a resident of Brooklyn, NY, had an active warrant for his arrest. Greenwich Township granted him a release on his own recognizance (ROR) with a new court date. The driver received traffic summonses for creating a risk of an accident and making an improper left turn. The court date is pending.

On 6/29, officers were dispatched to a residence on Curtis Avenue in response to a dispute. Upon arrival, the caller was uncooperative and refused to speak with the officers. A witness at the scene mentioned that he was unaware of the cause of the argument, and the other parties had left before the police arrived. The glass front door was shattered, and the estimated cost for repairs is approximately $300. The landlord was informed about the incident.

On 6/30, a resident of Lupton Avenue was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, possession of a firearm for unlawful purposes, possession of a handgun, and aggravated assault with a weapon after causing chaos and disruption throughout the city. The suspect was apprehended several days later in Virginia and is awaiting extradition to face these charges. A court date is pending.

On 6/30, officers were dispatched to the parking lot of Corsi Dental to respond to a hit-and-run incident. The caller reported that another driver had exited her vehicle and struck her car with the door. The situation escalated when the woman became irate and grabbed the caller's arm while she attempted to take a photo of the license plate. The driver left the scene before the police arrived. Both the owner of the vehicle and the driver were identified and subsequently issued summonses for various offenses, including driving with a suspended license, being an unlicensed driver, leaving the scene of an accident, failing to report an accident, operating an uninsured vehicle, and failing to produce proof of insurance, registration, and a driver's license. The owner of the vehicle was also cited for allowing an unlicensed driver to operate her vehicle. A court date is pending.
