Position Title: Community Events Coordinator

Hours: Flexible. Approximately 15-20 hours weekly, max 80 Hours per Month
Pay Rate: Hourly, $15
Reports to: City Administrator
Seeking part-time position for the City of Woodbury to coordinate City events and permits, including the Gather facility, Parks and Athletic Fields, the Woodbury Car Show, and other events as determined. Duties include receiving and approving special event permit applications for the Gather Facility, use of Parks and Athletic Fields and other events. Duties for the Gather Facility include keeping the Facility Schedule; providing tours; fielding calls and questions; verifying insurance and permits; collecting fees; cleaning & maintenance scheduling; accountability of equipment and verification of damage; responsible for general marketing, social media and website updates and digital event calendar; serve as the designated contact person during events at the facility in the case of a need or emergency; and distribute keys to access facility. Duties for the Parks and Athletic Fields include keeping the Facility Schedule; providing tours; fielding calls and questions; verifying insurance and permits; collecting fees; cleaning & maintenance scheduling. Other duties include the organization of the Car Show, including the day of event, and for registering participants, obtaining volunteers, sponsors, and professional bands, and reviewing and approving vendor application. Additional duties will include coordinating City resources for events within the City which are conducted and hosted by other entities, such as a non-profit. Applicant must possess strong communication and organizational skills, as well as Microsoft Office computer skills and Social Media experience. Applicant should have experience in planning, developing, and supervising special events, recreational, educational, or social service programs in a community, agency, or facility setting; Knowledge of methods and techniques involved in developing community event programs in community, agency or facility; Ability to organize, develop, coordinate, and promote special event programs; Ability to provide assignments and instructions to subordinates and supervise their work; Ability to enlist the interest of concerned people and encourage their participation in organized programs; Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with associates and the public; Ability to utilize available media for dissemination and promotion of special events.
