Since 1989, Gloucester County has conducted a series of collection days where residents can drop-off their “Household Special Waste” (HSW) at a designated location. Over the years, the Gloucester County Improvement Authority (GCIA)/Office of Recycling, in cooperation with the Board of Chosen Freeholders, has expanded the number of HSW events offered per year. This was done in an effort to provide a more convenient HSW disposal schedule for Gloucester County residents. Over the years, Gloucester County’s HSW Program has accommodated thousands of County residents and accepted hundreds of tons of hazardous materials.

Paints, stains, motor oil, antifreeze, lead acid and/or ni-cad
batteries, fluorescent tubes and ballasts, solvents, pesticides,
cleaners, kerosene, herbicides, gasoline, turpentine, varnish,
fertilizers, rat poisons, auto & floor care products,
weed killers, lighter fluid, propane tanks, photographic
and pool chemicals.

the designated drop-off site and WILL
