Councilwoman Heather S. Tierney has served on City Council since March 2004. She is the Chairperson of the Public Works Committee, and sits on the Finance and Green Acres Committees. Mrs. Tierney earned her B.A. in Economics from Gettysburg College and her M.A. in Economics from Temple University. She currently works as a tax specialist for a major U.S. tax firm.

She and her husband, John Tierney, have two sons.

Councilwoman Tierney belongs to the West End Memorial School PTA, the Greater Woodbury Jaycees, where she recently served as President, and the Central Baptist Church where she also teaches Sunday School.
